What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are a non-surgical and non-invasive method that can be used to help brighten your skin. They can be used on nearly all areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, shoulders, hands, amongst other regions. They can improve your skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, other folds in your skin, and even help treat sun damage. Your skin will immediately feel softer after treatment. We offer a variety of different glycolic acid peels, chemical face peels, and other chemical peel options at About Face Skin Care.
How Much Do Chemical Peels Cost?
A chemical peel treatment regimen can vary in cost. We offer multiple chemical peel and facial options that need to be chosen to match your specific needs. Multiple treatment sessions might also be recommended to ensure long-term results. You can discuss pricing with us here at About Face Skin Care.
Am I a Candidate for Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels can be safely used for both adult men and women who have damaged skin. This damage can include acne scars, sun-related damage, wrinkles, or other signs of worsening skin that is naturally caused due to aging.
At About Face Skin Care, we offer five chemical peel options:
- Rejuvenize Peel®
- Vitalize Peel®
- Illuminize Peel®
- Vi Peel®
- Glycolic Peel
Rejuvenize Peel® helps smooth the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and rough skin with noticeable results after one treatment. Recommended for those with moderate to severe skin imperfections.
Vitalize Peel® helps smooth the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and rough skin with noticeable results after one treatment. Recommended for individuals with mild to moderate skin imperfections.
Illuminize Peel® helps brighten your skin overall with great results after one session. Recommended for those with mild skin imperfections.
Vi Peel® helps improve the tone, clarity, and texture of skin while also reducing the appearance of scars. Appropriate for all skin tones and types.
Glycolic Peel uses glycolic acid, an effective ingredient for chemical peels, to help address mild to moderate symptoms caused by the natural aging process.
How Are Chemical Peels Performed?
Chemical peel treatments first require a thorough cleansing of the areas of your skin that are to be treated. A chemical solution is then applied onto the desired areas in multiple layers to help remove the uppermost layers of your skin where most of the damage is. Typically, treatment takes around an hour, but this can vary depending on the severity of your skin. After the peel is removed, the skin is cleansed an additional time and hydrated. This helps speed up recovery while also protecting your skin from future damage.
What is Recovery Like After Chemical Peels?
After a chemical peel treatment, you can return home and resume normal activities without worrying about long hospital stays or repeated visits. Avoiding direct sunlight and excessive physical exertion or exercise is recommended for around 24 hours after a session. Obtaining proper amounts of rest is also essential in the recovery process. You may notice your skin peeling after around 3 days, but do not pick at your skin. Let it peel naturally to avoid scarring and ensure you reap the full benefits of chemical peels.
How Long Will My Chemical Peels Results Last?
Chemical peel results typically last for a few months but can last longer depending on the regimen recommended for your skin. These results will be visible once your skin has naturally healed after the peeling process. Multiple treatment sessions may be recommended with a few weeks of downtime in between sessions. Treatments annually might also be recommended for long-term results.
