When using PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient, as is done when having bloodwork done. The test tube is then put in a centrifuge that will separate the red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma. The red blood cells are not needed in the treatment, only the golden colored plasma.
